Brett Houghton is Managing Director at Fermat Capital Management, LLC
Brett joined Fermat in October 2010 and brings to the firm over 25 years of experience structuring, trading and investing in esoteric structured products with a particular focus on life and catastrophe ILS. Prior to joining Fermat, Brett was Managing Director at Rochdale Securities, where he established and managed its fixed income trading operations, with a focus on structured products including insurance-linked securities, corporate credit obligations and asset-backed securities. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2009, Brett was with Lehman Brothers and then Aon Capital Markets, both pioneers in the formation of the ILS market, where he was responsible for structuring and trading an expansive range of life and non-life ILS products as well as a range of private credit securities including whole business securitizations, CLOs and ABS CDOs. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Brett worked from 1995 to 1998 for Prudential Financial and earned an ASA from the Society of Actuaries. Brett earned BS degrees in Mathematics and Statistics (double major) from the University of Michigan (1995). He is based in Connecticut.
